I'm Simon, and I run Mad Tech Heads LTD (Company Number: 14440918). I take your privacy seriously and want to be completely transparent about how I handle your information.

This policy explains what data I collect when you use my website or services, why I need it, and how I keep it safe. I've tried to keep it in plain English — no legal jargon.

When you get in touch: Your name, email, phone number, and any details you share about what you need help with. I only ask for what's necessary to do the job.

When you use my website: Basic technical stuff like your browser type and which pages you visit. This helps me understand how people use the site so I can make it better.

When I provide a service: Details about your device (for repairs), your business requirements (for websites), or your location (for broadband checks). I need this to actually help you!

For remote support sessions: I may temporarily view your screen to diagnose and fix issues. I don't record these sessions or retain any access after we're done.

I only use your information for legitimate purposes — here's exactly what:

• To provide my services — repairing your device, building your website, setting up your broadband, or helping remotely
• To stay in touch — updating you on progress, answering questions, or following up after a job
• To improve what I do — understanding how my website is used so I can make it more helpful
• For invoicing and records — I'm legally required to keep certain business records

I'll never sell your data to anyone. I don't do marketing emails unless you specifically ask to hear from me. That's just not how I operate.

I take sensible precautions to protect your information:

• This website uses HTTPS encryption
• I use secure, encrypted tools for remote support sessions
• Customer data is stored securely and only accessed when needed
• I don't keep data longer than necessary

That said, no system is 100% secure. I do my best, but I can't guarantee absolute security — nobody can.

I don't hoard data I don't need. Specifically:

• Contact form enquiries: kept for up to 12 months from your last interaction, then deleted unless you've become a customer.
• Customer records (invoices, work history): retained for 7 years after our last work together, in line with HMRC requirements.
• Website analytics / server logs: retained for up to 90 days, then automatically purged.
• Anti-spam (Cloudflare Turnstile, rate-limit data): stored briefly (typically minutes to a day) and discarded.

Under UK GDPR, you have rights over your personal data. In plain terms, you can:

• Ask what I have — request a copy of any personal data I hold about you
• Fix mistakes — ask me to correct anything that's wrong
• Ask me to delete it — in most cases, I'll remove your data if you ask
• Object to how I use it — you can ask me to stop certain uses
• Get a copy to take elsewhere — data portability, if applicable
