Work-Safety.co.uk is an online store specialising in workplace safety equipment and PPE. I designed and developed their comprehensive e-commerce platform using Elementor, then extended it with custom backend systems to streamline operations, automate stock management, and improve efficiency. I continue to manage and enhance the site today, keeping it fast, scalable, and competitive.
What I Did
- E-commerce build: Created a modern, responsive store in Elementor with clear categories, advanced product filtering, and custom product templates for compliance information.
- Custom order processing plugin: Automated order routing, developed a real-time dashboard, added staff and customer notifications, and built reporting tools for sales and fulfilment.
- Automated stock & pricing system: Integrated supplier APIs, implemented live stock sync, added dynamic pricing rules, and set up alerts to prevent overselling.
- Optimisation: Used advanced PHP, secure API connections, database tuning, and caching strategies to handle a large product catalogue without sacrificing speed.
- UX improvements: Simplified the checkout process, improved search with a focus on safety standards, and added educational content to guide equipment selection.
